About the conference

The International conference is dedicated to the new challenges of modernity that finds expression in questions like: What is the social world around us? Can the complexity of human existence, accompanied by the application of new information, nano-and biotechnology, in which the uncertainty, unpredictability, risk and chance to be examined dominate, could be studied? What is the cognitive capacity of the economic and social sciences to provide adequate answers, by developing new research methods to conduct applied research? Where do the boundaries of their tool use and contexts of interpretation lie? What are the possible ways to construct new approaches, new methodology of knowledge? This presents challenges to science, education and culture.

The recognition that the world is complex and unstable does not mean that it can not be studied, just the contrary - this is an invitation to new empirical, experimental and theoretical studies to reveal the specifics of the modern world. The need for new approaches to study the "elementary" forms of the social behavior of social agents is more than obvious.

Secondly, adopted on the understanding that our world has become much more reflexive means that we are much more dependent on how we think and form our opinions, attitudes, ideas, expectations and behaviors. Is it possible, by applying the full range of modern research methods to study opinions, attitudes, perceptions and expectations of people in order to get "accurate" picture of the social world. The academic interest is the one aspect of the problem. On the other hand, the focus of efforts must be oriented towards the management, the processes of development and adoption of management decisions and the evaluation of their effectiveness in practice. These are basic decisions that affect the interests of large sections of the population. That is why, it is not enough the applied research to define what happens, they must develop and offer models (mathematical, computer) of the economic, social, cultural, educational and other aspects of politics. All these require holding discussions on current issues of economic and social sciences and in particular on their approaches and methods, to achieve reliable results necessary for the practice. Creating and maintaining a quality dialogue between science and social work obviously goes through the stage of establishing solid links between the theoretical and empirical knowledge. The role of the methodology is crucial.

Thirdly, these are the complex issues that are related to our daily efforts to develop skills, habits and needs of the students to seek, acquire, process and analyze relevant information that reflects different aspects and nuances of social reality. Is it possible and how justified our hope is in order to take the next step? Assuming the actuality of the everyday life, to structure the ideas which "return" back to reality as social concepts and models enabling to "push back" from "the present" and look at the "future". And finally, that desire to be transformed from series of research instruments into a cultural phenomenon that put its imprint on the hearts and minds of the students and become a part of their nature.

The conference organizational committee hopes that their efforts will be accepted with an understanding by the academic community. Our goal is this conference to become an intellectual space where the experience in the effective application of research methods in science, educational process and practice will be shared. The format and the organization of this scientific event aim to create a scientific atmosphere that favors discussions, criticism and ideas exchange between supporters of different theories and approaches in the academic community.
